RockyCreek Labradors
About Us
The Mines Family, Mom Gerie and daughters Kathy, Janice and Sharon, have been competing and breeding our Labradors since 1969. We Registered our AKC Kennel Name, Rockycreek in 1974. It is our goal to breed versatile Labradors. We have produced winners at both all-breed and specialty conformation shows, hunt tests, obedience and rally trials, as well as wonderful companions and reliable hunting dogs.
Gerie resides in West Milford, New Jersey and part time in Gloucester, North Carolina. She takes care of the older dogs and the ones not currently being campaigned for their championships, hunt test titles, or obedience titles. To keep them in condition, they have a 5 acre fenced in area with their own pond for swimming and frog hunting. They all take turns being house dogs.
- Janice whelps and cares for the litters and does most of the paperwork and record keeping. She Also owns and operates Otway House Bed & Breakfast in Beaufort, North Carolina. Visit her website here Otway House Bed and Breakfast
- Kathy is a Professional Dog Show Handler, member of the Professional Handlers Association and an AKC Registered Handler. Her kennel is located in Columbia, NJ. She is on the road most of the time showing the dogs in conformation and obedience. Check her website, Kathy Mines Professional Handling to see if you can visit her and some of the Rockycreek Labradors at a show in your area. Kathy also breeds some of the best Norwich Terriers around, Take a look at her Foxwood Norwich website for more information.
We breed for competition quality stock which is also an advantage to our companion puppy buyers, since we are breeding for an all-round Labrador - good looking and easily trained for family companions, hunting and obedience competitions
